Passport Acceptance Facility

The U.S. Department of State has officially designated Lenoir Community College as a Passport Acceptance Facility. Community individuals can apply for a U.S. passport directly through the Office of Institutional Advancement.

This service is for individuals requesting a passport for the first time. For information regarding the passport renewal process, visit the U.S. Department of State website.

HOURS OF OPERATION
No appointment is necessary. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Please note: Because of passport application documentation and mailing guidelines, applicants must arrive at the Passport Acceptance Facility before 2:30 p.m. to receive service. Anyone arriving after the established time period will be asked to return the next business day.

PHOTOGRAPH REQUIREMENTS
We can take your photograph or you can provide a photograph that meets the following guidelines:

• Photographs should be 2 x 2 inches in size. Measured from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head (including hair) should be no less than 1 inch and no more than 1-3/8 inches.
• Photographs must be in color.
• Photographs must be clear images and have a plain white or light-colored background.

METHOD OF PAYMENT
The application fee, payable to the U.S. Department of State, must be paid by check or money order. Personal checks are accepted. Fees payable to the LCC Foundation (Execution fee, photos, and copy fee) can be paid in cash or by check or money order. Credit or debit cards are not accepted.

COMPLETED DOCUMENTATION
We submit your passport application along with all necessary documentation to the U.S. Department of State.

You receive your passport in the mail. The routine service takes approximately 6 – 8 weeks and expedited service is approximately 2 – 3 weeks. This does not include time spent in the mail.
