Paramedic to ADN Transition, AAS –Health Sciences EMS Bridging AHSP
Paramedic to ADN Transition is designed for the Paramedic to complete the ADN program. All general education courses listed are prerequisites to NUR 215. After provisional acceptance into the Paramedic to ADN Program, and upon successful completion of NUR 215 Paramedic/RN Bridge Concepts course, credit will be given for NUR 111, 112, 114, 117, and NUR 211 (25 SHC). After successful completion of NUR 215, the student in A45110PB will transition to A45110 ADN major.
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended industrial, and community health care facilities.

The Paramedic to ADN Transition program is designed for the EMT Paramedic to complete the ADN program. Before applying to the Paramedic to Associate Degree Nursing Transition program, an applicant must satisfy all prerequisites.
- Valid, unrestricted National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic certification (NREMT-P) and currently certified as a North Carolina EMT Paramedic with unrestrictive certification.
- Minimum of one year of EMT Paramedic work experience.
- GPA of 2.5 or higher for LCC’s ADN general education required courses.
- For all ADN program of study courses, a grade of “C” or better is required.
- All listed general education courses are required before receipt of Paramedic to ADN application.
- Math-An applicant must have completed one of the following before receiving the Applicant packet:
An unweighted high school GPA of 2.8 or higher from a College Prep Curriculum valid within 10 years. If this. is not met, one of the following options, within 10 years, will satisfy the math requirement:- Qualifying placement scores
- A grade of “P” for DMA 010-080
- A grade of “C” or higher for MAT 080
OR
RISE placement if outside the 10 year high school timeframe and must demonstrate mastery of Units 1-12 (Tier 2) or will be required to complete the transition course until mastery at Unit 12 (Tier 2) is met.
Students who do not satisfy the high school GPA or RISE placement requirements, must attend the transition course, MAT 003, until mastery is achieved through Unit 12 (Tier).

Students who have completed one of the following college transfer math courses from a regionally accredited institution with a “C” or better may meet the math requirement: MAT 121, MAT 122, MAT 141, MAT 143, MAT 151, MAT 152, MAT 161, MAT 171, MAT 263, MAT 271 and other courses not listed may be considered on an individual basis. Students who receive Tier 2 credit via the “MAT 110, credit for Tier 2 Waiver/Substitution” will not qualify for placement into a Health Sciences/Nursing program. (A 10300FY Statement)
- Biology-BIO 168 and BIO 169 with a grade of “C” or higher (the 5 year rule does not apply to these courses); BIO 275 with a grade of a “C” or higher. The equivalent to BIO 168 and BIO 169 must be approved by the Registrar’s Office and the Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing.
- Psychology-PSY 150 General Psychology and PsY 241.
- English-ENG 111 and ENG 112.
- Humanities-HUM 115 Critical Thinking and a Humanities/Fine Arts Elective.
- Math-An applicant must have completed one of the following before receiving the Applicant packet:
- American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider (current) (CPR) completion.

It is the current position of the North Carolina Attorney General that individuals with DACA classification are not eligible to receive in-state tuition. Students lawfully present in the United States shall have priority over any undocumented immigrant in any class or program of study when capacity limitations exist.
