A tightly contested contest throughout didn’t go in favor of Lenoir Community College Wednesday. The Lancers fell to Pitt CC 26-24, 20-25, 26-28, 25-20 in a wild affair on Pink Night. The first three sets featured a combined 38 ties and 16 lead changes and while LCC (9-16) took an early advantage, it wasn’t enough.
Come out to support The Rady Lady Foundation tonight at the annual Pink Night volleyball game vs. Pitt Community College! The SGA is hosting tailgating at 5:00 p.m. with hot dogs and drinks under the shelter at Thee Coffeehouse for everyone!
The Walk for Mental Health Awareness 2021 a Success
In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lenoir Community College President Dr. Rusty Hunt declared Oct. 13 Pink Day at the College. The LCC Volleyball Team will take on Pitt Community College at 6 p.m. on the Coach Bobby Dawson Court in the Student Center.
LCC broke a long skid Saturday, but couldn’t keep the momentum going Wednesday. Fayetteville Tech came to Kinston and picked up a 25-22, 25-5, 25-13 win to complete the season sweep. The Trojans (13-2) defeated the Lancers 22-25, 25-9, 25-20, 25-14 Sept. 7 in Fayetteville and survived an early scare before dominating from there.
Don't forget! The mental health walk is this Thursday, October 7. Come out and participate in a fun walk to raise awareness about mental health. Participants will be entered into a raffle for a prize! #mentalhealth #mentalhealthwalk
For the third time in a row, an LCC Graphics student was awarded top honors in this year’s PICA (Printing Industry of the Carolinas) student competition for printing and graphics. Samuel Jarman of Trenton, NC won the top collegiate award for his digital printing and package design of a dentist-themed hidden message structural mailer.
The Lenoir County ABC Board recently presented a check of $15,000 to Lenoir Community College to assist in alcohol and drug awareness programs at the College.
Piggly Wiggly Fresh Buy is a Master sponsor of this year’s 20th annual Lenoir Community College Golf Classic on Thursday, Oct. 7 at the Kinston Country Club. This event has raised over $600,000 toward student scholarships at LCC since its inception, and Piggly Wiggly Fresh Buy has been a consistent supporter for the past several years.
