Special Credit/Visiting Students

If you only plan to take a class to transfer back to another college or for personal enrichment, please select SPECIAL CREDIT/VISITING STUDENT (T90990) as your major. This is the first major listed in the dropdown list of majors.

If you are completing an online application for admission to LCC and don’t already have a Residency Certificate Number (RCN), you will apply for residency determination at the same time as you complete your admissions application on the CFNC website. If you already have an RCN number, you will need to provide this number on your admissions application. Applications cannot be submitted without this number.

To determine if a course has prerequisites, follow the steps below:

  1. Visit Self-Service Catalog Search
  2. Access Advanced Search
  3. Indicate Term you wish to search
  4. Indicate Subject and Course Number (if known)
  5. Submit
  6. Visit “View Available Sections”
  7. View pre-reqs by visiting section name

If registering for a course with no prerequisites, you may register for the course online during scheduled registration dates without submitting the Special/Visiting Prerequisite Approval Form.

If you are a Special/Visiting Student and are planning to register for a course at Lenoir Community College with a prerequisite, it is required that you:

  • Complete the Special/Visiting Student Pre-requisite Approval Form and provide unofficial transcripts that supports completion of prerequisites
  • Ensure that transcripts have student’s name and the school’s name or web address

When registering for courses with prerequisites, the required Special/Visiting Student Course Approval Form must be completed. Each course that has a prerequisite must be included on this form. Unofficial transcripts are required from the school at which the prerequisite was completed.

You will be notified by email when your pre-requisite approval request has been processed. This approval allows you to register online during scheduled registration dates or to contact your Advisor for registration.
