Heritage Place was established in 1988 as part of the Leigh and John McNairy Library located on the campus of Lenoir Community College. It houses a special reserved collection of genealogical and local/state historical materials. Research material focuses primarily on Eastern North Carolina but includes other counties as well as an extensive section of Virgina books and records. Microfilm holdings include all available censuses for North Carolina and through 1850 for Virginia.
