Strategic Plan Goals
Lenoir Community College (LCC) has been changing lives in Greene County, Jones County, Lenoir County, and surrounding areas since 1958. One of the oldest community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System, the College first began its operations as an industrial education center focused on vocational and technical programs. In 1966, the College began offering general education courses for students desiring to transfer to a four–year university.
As the only postsecondary institution in its three– county service area, Lenoir Community College is a critical source of job training in the community and an economic driver for its region. The College serves its constituents by providing innovative high–quality, low–cost programs with an emphasis on providing students with in–demand skills.
LCC has long been known for its responsiveness to the needs of the region with quality education and training. The College is also known for its compassionate faculty and staff. This solid foundation must continue to ensure opportunities for higher education in the future.
After several months of surveying faculty, staff, students, and conducting community focus groups, the strategic planning team has listened, organized, analyzed, and researched data to assist in making this plan successful. We want you to know we heard you and we care. We want to assist students in reaching their career goals. We also want to make sure that employers know they can depend on LCC for quality employees.
Everything we do as a College must be focused on the student experience. The overarching goal of this strategic plan is to Reimagine. The College must reimagine how it provides services, education, training, and re–training for all students.
This strategic plan is one for the entire community. Whether you are a member of the faculty, staff, community, or student body, you will be affected by initiatives designed to move the College forward with its focus on student success.
