Certified Veterinary Assistant

This course prepares students to work in a veterinarian’s office or animal shelter. Areas covered include veterinary terminology, anatomy and physiology, animal behavior and communication, grooming techniques, proper handling and restraining of animals, obtaining and handling specimens, emergency care, and office management. Classes are held in-person and online synchronous simultaneously. Students participate in field trips to local animal shelters, pet stores, zoos, and aquariums, which includes hands-on training opportunities.
