Associate in Arts, Teacher Preparation, AATP

The Associate in Arts, Teacher Preparation, AATP degree shall be granted for a planned program of study consisting of a minimum of 60 semester hours of credit (SHC) of college transfer courses. Within the degree program, the institution shall include opportunities for the achievement of competence in reading, writing, oral communication, fundamental mathematical skills, and basic computer use.

Community College transfer students are those who wish to transfer from a community college to another community college or to a senior-level college or university.

A college transfer program is a set of courses that has been designed to transfer to most four-year colleges and universities in North Carolina. In the North Carolina Community College System, the Associate in Arts (A.A.) and Associate in Science (A.S.) degree programs are included in the CAA as college transfer programs.

Student Services assigns academic advisors. Students are encouraged to see their advisor to ensure completion of the college transfer degree program.
