The Job Search Lab provides employability skills training for students actively seeking employment. The employability skills of this course are taught in the context of job markets that require specific technical competencies. Instruction is individualized based on the student’s career goals. The curriculum includes assessments of an individual’s assets and limitations, development of a positive self-concept, development of employability skills, development of communication skills, development of problem-solving skills, and awareness of the impact of information technology in the workplace. Upon completing this course, students will possess the employability skills and knowledge required to effectively pursue and maintain a career in a field that utilizes basic computer applications. There is no cost to the unemployed and underemployed.
