Medical Scribe Certificate–Health Sciences Medical Assisting AHSP

The Medical Scribe Certificate at a community college trains students to assist healthcare providers by documenting patient encounters in real-time. The program covers medical terminology, healthcare documentation, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and the basics of anatomy and physiology. Students develop skills in accurate and efficient note-taking, ensuring comprehensive medical records while allowing providers to focus on patient care. Graduates are prepared for roles as medical scribes in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings. Applicants interested in this credential should apply for the Medical Assisting, AAS program.

Students must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA), a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or a currently enrolled Medical Assisting student to be eligible to take courses toward Medical Scribe Certificate.
