Student finds career through LCC’s WIOA Youth Program

Twenty-year-old Travis Rouse of Snow Hill has a new job with a promising career in his future, and it all started at Lenoir Community College (LCC). Remarkable Woman: Helping others is what Ika Grant does

By day, Ika Grant can be found at Lenoir Community College. “I assist individuals that are considered low income as well as individuals,” Grant said. “At that time were dislocated workers, they have been laid off from their jobs. With retraining, those retraining this can be dealing with on-the-job training, or going back to school.”

El Centro Hispano Visits LCC

Lenoir Community College was honored Thursday with the visit of El Centro Hispano. “We had a great and productive time learning from each other and discussing ideas to work together to better serve our Hispanic/Latino/Latinx students and their community,” said LCC Workforce Development and Latino Programs Associate Dean Carlos Cotto.
